3 semesters of core curriculum

Semesters 5, 6 and 7 of regular curriculum post-baccalauréat

The overall objective is to foster and strengthen basic knowledge and methods that will permit engineers to evolve and adapt throughout their career path. Courses include a disciplinary part (around 900 hours) and a multidisciplinary part (around 200 hours), focused on company and its environment.

Two internships, one on a farm and one in an agro-food company, are compulsory during the training period. A collective work project is carried out during the first year (Semesters 5 and 6) for the project management training session.

A specific teaching has been implemented to help the student to define his/her career path.

3 semesters of vocational guidance

Semesters 8, 9 and 10 of regular curriculum post-baccalauréat

The student chooses courses according to his/her professional project. The main goal is the preparation of occupational activities.

  • Semester 8 : the training is organized into modules and in small groups. This training further develops topics covered in the core curriculum and establishes links with 3rd year optional courses. During this semester, the school promotes learning periods abroad. The duration of the semester is 13 weeks. It is followed by a compulsory pre-optional internship

  • Semester 9 : 3rd year options – the training further develops skills in particular topics and prepares to occupational integration. Students choose one elective course among those offered by the school. They can also attend their 3rd year in another French or foreign school (depending on their professional project).   • Semester 10 : end-of-course internship (6 months) – It concludes the training with real-life professional situations.

The modularization of semesters 8, 9, 10 were financed by the FSE

An appropriate language level in English, validated by an international recognized test, is mandatory for graduation (B2 level – 785 points TOEIC). TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is organized 4 times a year in the school.

Second-language courses are provided in the school for German and Spanish, and depending on the requests, for Italian and Portuguese. Other languages are available in Clermont Universities.

Going abroad (2 months minimum) is compulsory for students (internship or teaching period).

To strengthen practical experience, students have the opportunity to ask for a gap year at the end of the core curriculum.

An individual pedagogic support is implemented by a referring school teacher during the first four semesters.

Validation of studies is based on different assessments implemented throughout each semester (except end-of-course internship). Validation is made semester by semester, with the possibility to repeat a year in case of failure. It brings credits in the ECTS system. The graduation is determined by the acquisition of 180 credits during the training and the validation of the required level in language.
